Blues news with a Swampgrass twist

We had an amazing time touring about and playing to some amazing crowds during our Summer Tour and also got to see some great bands at the festivals we played. Hunter and the Bear were really impressive at Camping Be Cider Seaside III, as were Hideaway and Debbie Bond at Aberjazz. The venue at Aberjazz – Ffwrn – was a combination bakery and bar and was a little gem. Ending the first half of the tour at The Boar’s Head in Brecon we met a great bunch of people, a few of which even came along to our home town show in Glastonbury. We are definitely looking forward to heading back to Brecon in the future, not least for the luminous green slushies.

Our show in Glastonbury at Swampgrass HQ was an amazing success. We sold out, kept the location secret and then fed, watered and entertained the crowd with some great music. The Dead Freights were amazing as ever, somehow taking every performance to a new level. Lazy Daze continue to show themselves as one of the best bands around Somerset. Howard & Badman kicked off the night and were a crowd favourite with great tunes and guitar playing. Here’s some photo’s:

We took a week off after the tour but we’re back in the swing of things for the rest of the month with the following shows:

Sept 16th – Royal Portland Arms. Portland Bill
Sept 17th – The Cellar Bar at The Swan. Bradford-on-Avon
Sept 23rd – Old Ship Aground. Minehead.
Sept 24th – The Barton Inn Beer Fetival. Barton St. David. (16.30)
Sept 24th – Oktoberwest, the West Berkshire Brewery. Yattendon Tithe Barn.

Coming up in October we have the Beer Blues Festival whch we are very much looking forward to. We’re playing Saturday afternoon and it’s a free venue so you don’t even need a festival ticket. Would be great to see you there and we can’t recommend the festival enough. Lovely location and wonderful people.

We’ve also got most of the Spring tour booked and we’ll start publicising the dates soon as well as our local Christmas show with some very special out of town guests…
